not one of the other candiates, with the possible exception of Edwards/Kucinich, can say that they have experienced anything like what Obama has clearly experienced growing up as a black during the pre-civil rights era in America. The experiences that Obama had to endure clearly had a strong influence on his demeanor and instilled in him the qualities necessary to be an unbiased leader. Unlike other candiates, Obama doesn't beat around the bush when he has done something wrong or the news is not good. Rather, he will be up front with Americans no matter what the cirstances. During today's campaign stop on CSPAN, for instance, he mentioned that there were rumors about some of the work he had done in school, and that he will make that work available for viewing tomorrow to dispell the rumors. I think the fact is that people just don't want to believe that Obama can possibly be an ideal candidate because of his race, when in reality his race is exactly WHAT has made him a top candidate
